According to a tweet by Arvind Kejriwal in 2015, Swati Maliwal is not his cousin’s sister, nor is she in any distant relationship. Kejriwal has clarified in his tweet that it is being alleged by the media and opposition parties that Swati is his cousin, but this doesn’t seem right and is nonsense.
He said, “I have no relation even remotely with her (Swati).” Thus, Kejriwal has clarified that Swati is not related to him in any way. However, he has avoided revealing his relationship with Swati. But it is clear from his tweet that Swati Maliwal is not his cousin or relative.
Swati Maliwal accused Arvind Kejriwal of assault.
Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal assistant (PA), Vibhav Kumar, of assaulting her. At around 9.40 am on Monday, Delhi Police received a call from the Chief Minister’s residence, in which a complaint of assault was made.
According to the police, the second call came at around 9.54 pm, in which the caller revealed her name as Swati Maliwal and alleged that Vibhav Kumar was assaulting her. After this information, the police sent three vehicles to the spot. However, as per protocol, Delhi Police could not go inside the CM’s residence.
Swati Maliwal later reached the Civil Lines police station but returned without registering any complaint. DCP Manoj Meena of Delhi Police said the official complaint has not been received yet. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has accused Kejriwal of misbehavior towards women.
This incident has come to light when AAP and BJP are attacking each other for the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal is on bail by the Supreme Court in the liquor scam case.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got interim bail from the Supreme Court in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1 so that he can campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Kejriwal in this case. He was issued nine summons earlier but did not appear before the agency. Kejriwal approached the Delhi High Court to avoid arrest but did not get relief.
Kejriwal challenged the ED’s arrest in the Supreme Court and called it illegal. ED opposed granting interim bail to Kejriwal during the hearing, but the court rejected it.
While granting bail to Kejriwal, the court has also imposed some conditions. During the bail period, he cannot go to the Chief Minister’s office and sign any document except if the Lieutenant Governor feels his signature is necessary. Apart from this, they will not be able to talk to the witnesses of this case.
